He expressed such an opinion in response to the questions of the graduates of the Kyiv Higher School of Economics, reports the magazine “Forbes Ukraine”.
“After one and a half to two months for the main one [Krievijas armijas] the pressure should end, because the offensive has already lasted,” said Budanov.
The experience of the ten-year-long war shows that the offensive potential “does not last longer than two months for either side”, Budanov said.
The aggressor’s offensive operation is approaching three months, so there will be some decline in the future, said the head of HUR.
“But we know that after the fall and a little relaxation, there will be new enemy attack attempts. And we are preparing for that,” Budanov said.
The head of HUR also spoke about a number of other issues, including the “Wagner” riot that took place in Russia last summer.
“We knew that this military coup would take place half a year in advance. Unfortunately, now we no longer see such a movement,” Budanov admitted.
“If we are talking about a conditional uprising of ethnic groups, then it needs a leader on the ground. There is a good leader, he is with us, but he gets opportunities. Then we can talk about something,” said Budanov.
He did not specify which leader and ethnic group he was talking about.
The head of the HUR emphasized that “nothing ever happens by itself”, and the Wagnerian rebellion was also prepared “a long time in advance”.
Wagner’s founder, Yevgeny Prigozhin, was a “complex personality, an ultra-patriot”, and his “patriotic” feelings eventually managed to manipulate Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko, Budanov explained.
“He (Prigozhin) was going to enter the Kremlin, he was really thinking about saving Russia. However, it was explained to him that if you enter, no one will be able to fool you. But with that, you will not save Russia right away, but will tear it apart. Because you will be in the Kremlin right away, but the nominal state the leadership will be somewhere else,” said the head of HUR.
These “patriotic” arguments were presented to Prigozhin by Lukashenko, because no one else could convince the mercenary leader, said Budanov.
