The price of electricity rises in August: 235.32 euros/MWh, 18.8% more

The price of electricity for customers of the regulated tariff rises clearly in the premiere of the month of August: tomorrow, Monday, it will be 235.32 euros/MWh, 18.8% more than today, Sunday (198.03 euros /MWh), according to data from theOperator of the Iberian Energy Market (OMIE). This price is the result of adding the average price of the wholesale market auction (147.43 euros/MWh) and the compensation that will be paid to the combined cycle plants for the application of the gas cap (87.89 euros/ MWh). The maximum price on Monday will be recorded from 21 to 22 hours with 165.09 euros/MWh, while the minimum will be from 10 to 11 hours with 123.72 euros/MWh. Without the Iberian exception, the cost of electricity would be around 50 euros/MWh more to 286.19 euros (+17.7%).
