Soybean oil prices rose again. The new price has been increased by 10 taka per liter to 173 taka. It will be effective from today, Tuesday (April 16). Earlier, the price of bottled soybean oil was Tk 163 per liter at the retail level.
This proposal was made in the letter of Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Bonaspati Manufacturers Association on Monday (April 15).
In the letter written to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, it has been stated that for your kind information, the SRO issued on February 7, 2024 for the import and production of edible oil raw materials expires on April 15, 2024, therefore, edible oil (refined) will be available in the market from April 16, 2024. Palm Oil and Refined Soybean Oil) shall be supplied at ex-VAT Exemption price.
It is further stated that in the light of the above, the price of edible oil will be effective from April 16, 2024 as follows.
The proposed price of 1 liter of bottled soybean oil is Rs 173, Rs 845 for 5 liters and Rs 132 for open 1 liter of palm oil.
