The recent situation in the country has reduced remittances. The dollar crisis is growing. Bangladesh Bank has given verbal instructions to banks to encourage expatriates to send remittances to the country in various ways. In such a situation, the dollar price has increased by 3 to 4 rupees in the open market in a few days. On Wednesday (July 31), the dollar was sold at 125 taka from 124 taka 80 paisa in the open market. As a result, the Money Changers Association of Bangladesh has set a maximum retail price of Tk 119 per dollar to keep the dollar market stable. If the dollar is sold at a higher price than this, the organization will take action against the concerned organization.

This information has been informed in a circular signed by the president of Money Changers Association of Bangladesh MS Zaman on Wednesday (July 31).

According to the notification, according to the instructions of Bangladesh Bank, the maximum selling price of US dollar for all money changers in the country is currently fixed at Tk 119. If any money changer company violates this directive, then Money Changers Association of Bangladesh will take necessary action against that company. All the members of Money Changer Association of Bangladesh are requested to cooperate in this regard.

Meanwhile, since the dollar market has been volatile, it has been reported that the central bank is conducting raids on various money changers. Earlier too, Bangladesh Bank conducted operations when there was instability in the dollar market. At that time some institutions were also sealed.
