The price reduced to 3,258,733 FCFA instead of 3,603,840 FCFA initially announced

The Minister of Trade, Mr. Alkache Alhada chaired yesterday afternoon, at his office, a meeting on the revision of the price of Hajj. During this meeting, the Minister of Commerce announced that the new price of Hadj 2023 is set at 3,258,733 FCFA instead of 3,603,840 FCFA initially announced a few days ago, i.e. a reduction of 345,107 FCFA. Minister Alkache Alhada also explained that this drop is linked to the revision of the price of certain services in Saudi Arabia.

This meeting was marked by the presence of the Secretary General of the said Ministry, actors in charge of the organization of Hajj, in particular the Commissioner for the Organization of Hajj and Umrah (COHO), heads of Hajj Agencies and those of consumer associations. During this meeting, the Minister of Commerce, Mr. Alkache Alhada recalled that a few days ago his ministerial department organized a similar meeting to discuss with the actors in charge of the organization of Hajj on the price of Hajj which was initially set at 3,603,840 FCFA. Stating that the increase was linked to the increase in certain benefits at the level of Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Commerce explained that the Saudi authorities seized those of Niger through the Commissariat for the Organization of Hajj and Umrah to substantially revise the cost of delivering them at the local level.

According to the Minister of Commerce, the services which were 5,200 Riyal which corresponded to 933,816 FCFA are reduced to 3,278.50 Riyal or 588,753 FCFA. At the same time, the Saudi authorities lowered the price of pilgrim insurance from 29 Riyal to 28.75 Riyal. According to Minister Alkache Alhada, this drop allowed a reduction of 345,107 FCFA compared to the initial price. In addition, the Minister of Commerce announced that pilgrims who have already made their Hajj payment according to the price fixed previously will be reimbursed.
