He said this while addressing the media today (30th).
The bakery industry cannot afford it
Jayawardena said that the electricity bill of the bakeries has increased twice than the current price and said that if the electricity bill is raised again, the bakery industry will not be able to bear it.
He also said that the bakery industry has suffered a major decline due to the increase in the price of flour, eggs and other ingredients required for the bakery industry, as well as the increase in fuel and electricity charges.
The need to increase the price
Jayawardena also said that if electricity charges are increased again, the price of bakery products including pans will have to increase, and if this happens, the bakery industry may further decline.
