The Prices Committee recommended that the dormitory rates for infants up to one year of age, which are operated by bodies with a “residence symbol” from the state, be increased by NIS 120 to NIS 170 per month.
Education Minister Yifat Shasha-Bitton opposes the committee’s recommendation and refuses to approve it at this stage, since she is not prepared for the increase in tariffs to be borne by the public. Therefore, the Minister requested that the Ministry of Finance subsidize the increase, but since we are in a transitional government, it is not clear how much the Ministry of Finance will be able to help.
