Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Approves Biggest Ease of Doing Business Reform Program in Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the launch of the most extensive reform program in Pakistan’s history to enhance Ease of Doing Business. This ambitious initiative will involve the creation of a digital registry of Pakistani laws and regulations.
During a meeting focused on promoting business and investment, Sharif also expressed gratitude to international organizations expressing interest in funding the project. He instructed officials to finalize agreements with these organizations to move forward.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of swift implementation, directing relevant authorities and ministries to ensure the timely rollout of policy measures and initiate reforms across key sectors in the first phase of the program. A special committee has been established to oversee the implementation process.

Digitizing and consolidating all existing laws and regulations related to investment in Pakistan.
Removing unnecessary regulations and bureaucratic hurdles that impede business and investment.
* Reducing the time required for registration, permits, and other administrative processes through digitization.
These measures are expected to significantly enhance the ease of doing business in Pakistan, stimulate private sector development, and position the country as a more attractive investment destination globally.
The Prime Minister has set a target of completing the first phase of the program by December 2024, with a focus on prioritizing the most important laws and regulations.
