Sultan Abdul Rahman Al-Marshat, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development, called on Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Allari Palace today.

The Prime Minister recalled the close cooperation provided by the Saudi Arabian Government and the Saudi Fund for Development to implement Sri Lanka’s development projects.

The Prime Minister thanked the two governments for their continued cooperation and friendship.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa appealed to the representatives of the Saudi Fund for Development to focus on future priorities, especially projects related to small-scale irrigation, rural water supply and future road development in rural areas.

Development activities in the country began in 1981 with the support of the Saudi Fund for Development. Since then, the fund has contributed to many development projects in the country over the past four decades.
