(24News) There was a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, in which Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the ongoing operations in Palestine and demanded strict accountability of Israel.
According to details, a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session. Welcoming the holding of the conference and expressed the hope that its outcome will help developing countries to improve the financing gap and system for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs and climate targets.
Briefing the Secretary General on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over India’s aggressive actions in the occupied valley and stressed the need to resolve the conflict to ensure lasting peace and stability in South Asia. .
Shahbaz Sharif urged the Secretary General to use his influence to implement the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council on Jammu and Kashmir and to ensure the right of self-determination of Kashmiris. The prime minister strongly condemned Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians and called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the establishment of Ho.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to stop the rising tide of Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims worldwide. He reiterated Pakistan’s determination to play an active role in international peace and security as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the year 2025-26.
Secretary General Guterres thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s active participation in the United Nations as well as its participation in the United Nations peacekeeping mission and Pakistan’s role in establishing international peace and security.
