British David Chipperfield (London, 1953) has been chosen as the 2023 Pritzker Architecture Prize, and reaches number 52 on the list of laureates with the most coveted award in his professional field. It was the only one left for him to win, since his solid talent had previously been recognized with the Heinrich Tessenow Medal (Germany, 1999), the RIBA Royal Gold Medal (United Kingdom, 2011), the Mies van der Rohe Award (Spain , 2011) and the Praemium Imperiale for Architecture from the Japan Art Association (2013), among other distinctions. His residence is in London, where he has the headquarters of a studio with offices in Berlin, Milan, Shanghai and Santiago de Compostela.
