Azerbaijan “Halal””/>
AZ STANDARD begins issuing certificates in Azerbaijan “Halal“.
According to Day.Az, the certification body “AZSTANDART Halal” of the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization, subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision and Control of the Consumer Market, is accredited by the Halal Accreditation Agency of the Republic of Turkey.
Discussions are underway to open halal hotels in Azerbaijan
Thus, AZSTANDART received the right to issue a “Halal” certificate that meets the requirements of international accreditation.
The main purpose of issuing a Halal certificate is to create conditions for the application and use of appropriate rules in manufactured products, services and management systems, to ensure consumer demand and expectations for halal products and to build trust in them, as well as to stimulate the turnover of halal products.
A Halal certificate will strengthen consumer confidence in halal products and services.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan has been a member of the Organization for Standardization and Metrology of Islamic Countries (SMIIC) since 2022. AZSTANDART is represented in 17 SMIIC technical standardization committees. To date, AZSTANDART has adopted 6 new state standards based on SMIIC standards related to halal products and services, 23 employees took part in trainings organized by SMIIC, the Halal Accreditation Institute, the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) and other reputable Halal certification organizations and received certificates Auditor General for Halal Certification and International Standard ISO 22000:2018 “Food Safety Management System”.
