In a climate of religious exuberance, the procession of the Bride took place in the Metropolis and in the churches of Aegina. Holy Week begins on Sunday evening, when the Procession of the Bridegroom takes place. It is a period during which the faithful will experience through the daily services, the liturgical and hymnological cycle of the church the path of the Lord towards the Resurrection.

Great Monday (Sunday Vaion evening): On Great Monday, two events dominate: a) The life of Joseph, the 11th son of the Patriarch Jacob, the so-called Pangalos, that is, the beautiful in body and soul. Joseph foreshadows with his adventure (being sold as a slave in Egypt) Christ himself and His passion. b) The incident of the unfruitful fig tree that Christ knew (Mt. 21, 18-22): It symbolizes the Synagogue of the Jews and in general the life of the Israelite people who were barren of good works.
