Tomorrow, January 30, the day of celebration of the Three Hierarchs celebratory events and church services will be held in the schools, but then the timetable will be observed normally, according to the relevant circular issued by the Deputy Minister of Education Ms. Zetta Makri.
Although until recently the religious feast of the Three Hierarchs was a holiday for tutoring schools and foreign language centers, it was abolished by a ministerial decision, which was signed by the Deputy Minister of Education, Religion and Sports Zetta M. Makris.
Specifically, it is about the decision No. 8778/Ν1/26-01-2024 which amends the decision No. 219434/Α5/21.12.2016 (Β΄ 4212) on the subject: “Vacation days and holidays of educational institutions and centers foreign languages”. With the specific ministerial decision, only the religious feast of the Three Hierarchs for tutoring schools and foreign language centers is abolished from point II of element B. HOLIDAYS. For the rest, the above Ministerial Decision applies, so a single regime for schools and tutoring centers is now established.
The celebrations
In all Primary and Secondary Education schools, public and private, the celebration of the Three Hierarchs becomes universal and uniform.
Celebrations are held, which may include religious and educational activities related to the promotion of the social and educational work of the Great Fathers and their contribution to Education and Letters.
