It will be basic, with 9 classrooms and located less than 100 meters from the sea
The newest school in Burgas will be located literally meters from the sea. The school will be located in the somewhat remote district of Kraimorie, and the project for its construction was initiated by a decision of the municipal council.
At the suggestion of the mayor Dimitar Nikolov, the councilors approved an agreement with the Narcoop production cooperative for
release of adjacent terrain to be able to builds the building
“There is no greater satisfaction for a mayor than working to create another new school. With this decision, a big step was taken to realize the project,” said the mayor.
The school will be primary.
It will be a branch of “Alexander Georgiev – Kodjakafaliyata” Primary School and will be located less than 100 meters from the beach.
Nikolov revealed that he had many ideas for the school, one of which was to be used by students in the summer as a base for sea sports and acquiring skills for various sea attractions.
The project envisages that, at the first stage, the school will have 9 classrooms, specialized offices, a gym and a swimming pool, areas for administrative and support staff, designated areas in the yard and other auxiliary premises.
The school was extremely necessary for the residents of “Kraimorie”, who until now sent their children to study up to class VII in the town, as there was no other educational institution in the neighborhood. This created a lot of inconvenience for parents and students related to transportation.
The neighborhood is located 10 km from the center of Burgas. Due to its proximity to the sea and the beautiful nature around, “Kraymorie” is the fastest growing urbanized area. Its population is constantly growing, and new houses are springing up like mushrooms.
The new school will also solve another problem related to children in the urban area. More than 80 teenagers from the neighborhood from the 1st to the 7th grade now have to attend educational institutions mainly in the center.
This further exacerbates the problems associated with the shortage of vacancies in schools there.
The construction of the educational institution will be with funds from the recovery plan
and sustainability. According to this procedure, the municipality has proposals for the opening of two more school buildings in Burgas – at the “Hristo Botev” elementary school in the “Sarafovo” district and in the yard of the “Acad. Nikola Obreshkov” Prof. Georgi S. Rakovski”.
In both cases, the idea is to make the educational base even more attractive for teenagers. The increase in classrooms in “Sarafovo” will solve the problem of the lack of enough free places for students there.
It will also allow students to switch to a single-shift mode of study.
According to unofficial statistics, Burgas is perhaps the municipality in Bulgaria with the most newly opened educational institutions in recent years.
From 2015 to 2021 alone, a total of 10 buildings were built to existing schools or new buildings were reconstructed and built.
In the meantime, there is an idea to build a student town because of the constantly increasing number of students from other cities along with the opening of the branches of SU “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the National Art Academy, and of the Faculty of Medicine at the “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” University.
According to experts, the modernization and expansion of the educational base fit perfectly into the ambitious program of the municipality for the demographic development of Burgas, the goal of which is to make the city even more attractive to live in.
One of the main challenges in the future is how to retain young people and attract new ones to settle permanently with appropriate education and work in the city.
