The Scientific, Methodological and Qualification Center of Culture (MEMIM) of the Ministry of Culture presented a new project: a thematic seminar entitled “Theatre: from generation to generation”.

As reported to Day.Az by the center, the first panel “Create your own theater”, held within the framework of this project, was held at the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater.

The first guest of the seminar, moderated by MEMIM employee, theater critic Daglar Yusif, was the founder and artistic director of the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater, People’s Artist of the Republic Bakhtiyar Khanizade.

Opening the panel, Acting Director of MEMIM, Vugar Humbatov, emphasized that the goal of the project is to support the development of Azerbaijani theater, introduce and apply modern international theater trends, increase interest in this area, as well as attract young people to it and exchange experiences between generations.

During the event, B. Khanizade shared with the youth his theatrical experience, ideas about the socio-economic, artistic and conceptual aspects of the theater, its traditions, modernity, new creative trends in the organization of theatrical work. He also noted that for working with conceptual theater in the new era, it is important to search for an experimental form based on traditions and professional criteria.

At the end of the meeting, a photo was taken as a souvenir.

It should be noted that within the framework of the seminar “Theatre: from generation to generation” it is planned to organize interactive meetings of young people with theatre luminaries.
