The share of German residents who are dissatisfied with the work of the ruling Traffic Light coalition (Social Democratic Party of Germany, Greens, Free Democratic Party) has increased slightly compared to last month and reached 73%. This is evidenced by the data of a survey conducted by the INSA sociological institute on behalf of the Bild am Sonntag newspaper, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
The results showed that 73% of respondents were dissatisfied with the government’s actions. This is 1 percentage point more than in the previous month. Only 20% of respondents expressed the opposite point of view. Another 7% did not express their opinion on this matter. At the beginning of June, the share of those dissatisfied with the work of the German cabinet was 70%.
At the same time, two thirds of respondents (67%) are dissatisfied with the work of Chancellor Olaf Scholz personally. Only 23% of Germans support his policies, 10% did not answer the question.
The survey was conducted from July 25 to 26 and involved 1,003 people.
The next elections to the Bundestag (German parliament) are expected to take place on September 28, 2025. Based on their results, a new government will be formed and a new chancellor will be elected. Scholz previously announced that he would run for the post of head of the German government again.
He currently heads a coalition government that includes the Social Democratic Party, the Greens and the Free Democrats. According to the latest polls, the three parties together have a rating of only 31%.
