The coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement have rejected Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s proposal to hold talks with the government.

Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, told the media on Saturday (August 3).

In a meeting with the central leaders of Peshajeji Samambaya Parishad at the Ganabhaban this morning, the Prime Minister called on the students and said that the doors of the Ganabhaban are open. I want to sit with the protestors and listen to them. I don’t want conflict.

In response to this, coordinator Nahid Islam said that there is no chance to seek justice or sit in dialogue with the murderous government. The time for apologies is over. When there was time, the government arrested and tortured students in block raids. Akhtar Hossain, Arif Sohail, etc., we will not enter into any kind of compromise by keeping the Rajbandis in jail.

“When we were in the DB office, there was a plan to take us to the Prime Minister’s office,” he said. That plan did not succeed because of our hunger strike and street agitation.

Meanwhile, the anti-discrimination student movement has announced a nationwide protest march today and a non-cooperation movement from Sunday on the 9-point demand.

Students are gathering at the central Shaheed Minar from 3 pm on Saturday. Also, students are holding programs at various important points in Dhaka.
