Delfi has received information that the prosecutor’s office recently reopened the investigation into the fraud, which was started more than 5 years ago but was later suspended. The prosecutor’s office claims that it cannot comment on the ongoing pre-trial investigation, as doing so would jeopardize the process.
V. German, contacted by the portal, confirmed that the information was new to him and expressed interest in the matter.
The name of V. Germanus, previously convicted of fraud, gained media attention following the scandal involving former Minister of Social Security Monika Navickienė and her relationship with him and his co-habitant, the owner of the financial technology company Foxpay.
Due to these connections and information published by the portal 15min.lt that Navickienė traveled to Dubai on a private plane with I. Trinkūnaite and V. Germant, she resigned from her position. Initially unable to explain the funding for the trip, Navickienė later claimed it was a gift.
