That September 25, 2012,⁢ tens of thousands of people gathered in Plaza de Neptuno, in Madrid. Called by the call to surround ‍the ⁢Congress,‍ the night ended with harsh police charges which also continued inside the Atocha station. They arrested 35 people and 64 others were ⁤injured. Of them, 27 were agents, although the ‌government delegation did not specify their ⁣pathologies. The hearing for ‍21 of these⁤ detainees will begin ⁣on November ‍18 in what protest organizers have⁤ called a “macro-trial.” More ‍than 12 years later, Justice will resolve what happened. The ‍Prosecutor’s Office requests⁤ sentences that in some cases exceed seven years of⁣ imprisonment and which,‌ in total, amount to⁤ 112‍ years ‌among all the defendants.

⁢ ⁣ Dozens ⁣of videos flooded the networks on Tuesday 25 September. One of them left an image that is still⁣ remembered. Faced with one ⁢of the police charges, a plainclothes ⁢officer began shouting “I’m a partner, damn it!” to escape the blows that his own professional colleagues were dealing him on the field. Next to him, also on the asphalt, was Ángel ⁢García, accused of public‍ disorder ⁣and for whom the‌ Public Prosecutor ⁣is asking for a ⁣sentence of ‍3 years and 8 months in prison, the lowest of all.
