Is a high-protein diet healthy?

A protein diet can be healthy if followed correctly. Proteins play an essential role in building and repairing (muscle) tissue. As an athlete, you can use those extra proteins very well. In addition, it can be beneficial for some to choose lean protein sources because, for example, they react poorly to a diet high in carbohydrates or want to consume less saturated fats. However, it is important to maintain a balanced diet and make sure you get enough fiber, vitamins and minerals. So make sure you get enough fruits, vegetables and other non-protein foods. It doesn’t matter if you prioritize carbohydrates, fats or proteins, if you are not in a calorie deficit you will not lose weight.
