Fifteen days after the investiture debate of the candidate of the Popular Party (PP), Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the Socialists criticize the attempt to bring the Popular Party together. According to the acting Government spokesperson, IsabelRodríguez, Feijóo’s “loneliness is due to his agreements.”

“He no longer knows what to do and that’s why he comes and goes, he says things and they disappoint him, he fits in and he doesn’t fit in,” he commented on the controversy generated by some words from the PP leader in which he was betting on finding a “fit” to the ” territorial problem” of Catalonia.

Feijóo later explained that he had used that pro-independence terminology on purpose, stressed that his proposal should be framed in a State pact between PP and PSOE and denied internal problems in his party over how to deal with the situation in Catalonia.

“What he had, has and will have is 172 votes”

In this context, Rodríguez has asked Feijóo that “he must look at the PSOE to dress his nakedness.” He assures that if he is alone it is “because he wanted it that way” by linking “his political future from him to Vox.” “His loneliness from him has only one reason and that is that he joined those positions of denying gender violence, of attacking diversity, of not understanding climate change, of censoring culture,” he reiterated.

For this reason, he once again reproaches that he is wasting Spain’s time knowing that he will not be able to gather more support for his investiture than the 172 supported by PP, Vox, the Navarro People’s Union and the Canarian Coalition. “What he had, has and will have are 172 votes and, therefore, his investiture is not possible,” he emphasized.

The PP disfigures the silence of Pedro Sánchez

In the PP, for their part, they insist on seeking a consensus and make the silence of the acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, ugly in the face of a possible amnesty for Carles Puigdemont. The general secretary of the PP, CucaGamarra, is convinced that Sánchez is willing to grant amnesty to those accused of the process, including Puigdemont, in an interview with ‘The Objective’.

For number two, her party’s dialogue with the independentists was a mandate after being urged by the monarch to appear at the investiture debate. “Sánchez remains silent in the face of Puigdemont’s conditions: he who remains silent grants,” he said.
