The PSOE returns to legislate in the Assembly of Extremadura thanks to the support of United We Can and in a second vote. With 32 votes, the socialist Blanca Marín will once again preside over the regional Parliament with a simple majority after the investiture session was held this Tuesday.

Around 10 in the morning, the investiture session of the XI Legislature began in the Extremaduran chamber. In a first vote, the Socialists have managed to gather 32 votes, 28 from their formation and 4 from the purple ones. Meanwhile, PP and Vox voted separately for their respective candidates, with 28 and 5 supports respectively, which hints at a new imbalance within the right-wing bloc.

The popular ones were represented by Abel Bautista, Vox by Ángel Pelayo Gordillo and the PSOE by Blanca Marín, president of the Assembly of Extremadura since 2015. Unidas Podemos had not announced any representation, so their votes were granted directly to the socialists. After a first vote in which no candidate has obtained an absolute majority, a second round has been carried out in which Marín has been able to be invested in a simple majority, since in accordance with the regulations of the chamber it is possible to legislate with the majority of the props.

New mismatch between PP and Vox

The Extremaduran chamber was tense during this investiture session, since popular and voxists have not been able to reach any agreement after hours of negotiation. The PP, led in Extremadura by María Guardiola, asked the far-right formation for its support in exchange for offering it the Presidency of the Junta. Those of Abascal, led in this autonomy by Ángel Pelayo, have denied this agreement, thus configuring a new mismatch between the two parties despite the Valencian precedent and the numerous Consistory in which both have agreed after the 28M elections.

Vox stays out of the Assembly Table

The three secretariats of the Board of the Assembly of Extremadura have been distributed among the PP, PSOE and Unidas Por Extremadura this Tuesday. The Presidency and the First Vice Presidency have been led by the Socialists, while the Popular Party have remained with the Second Vice Presidency. This has been the result of the vote during the constitutive session of the autonomous Parliament in this community, whose 65 elected deputies have taken possession of their seats and in which the agreement between PP and Vox has not been fruitful so that the latter could be up to date. in front of the Presidency of Parliament, something that the popular ones promised. With only 5 votes, Óscar Arturo Fernández, the Vox candidate, will not be able to hold any secretariat according to the correlative order decided by those elected.
