The leader of the PT in the Chamber, the deputy Zeca Dirceu, said after a meeting of legislators from the party with the minister Fernando Haddad (Treasury) that the party renounces increasing the tax burden on millionaires, thus making a historic banner of the party more flexible. .

However, according to him, the bench does not agree to maintain the current rules for billionaires.

“We even gave up taxing the rich. The bench says that they give up taxing millionaires. What doesn’t make sense is that a country like Brazil, with so much inequality, continues without taxing billionaires,” he said.

These statements come after House Speaker Arthur Lira expressed his disagreement with the government’s proposal to tax the super-rich. According to Lira, this could hinder the processing of the Tax Reform.
