According to a statement issued by Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan:
First Minister MK Stalin has ordered the implementation of simple new methods to make river sand, an essential building material, easily available to the public, the poor and the needy, to carry out new housing, repairs and other non-building work without any difficulty.
