The Public Prosecution announced that it was able to identify the suspects in the incident of intercepting a member of the Supreme Council of State, Nizar Kawan, preventing his movement, and attempting to kidnap him.
According to the Public Prosecution’s statement, investigators found that three members affiliated with the Documentation and Information Department of the Internal Security Service intercepted the victim and tried to forcibly take him to an unknown destination.
The investigating authority of the Public Prosecution issued orders to arrest the suspects and bring them in for questioning about the incident and investigate its circumstances.
In his comment on the Public Prosecution’s statement: The Internal Security Service said that the Documentation and Information Department is not concerned with arrest or arrest, indicating that it does not have the means to stop those arrested like Nizar Kawan, according to the agency.
Internal Security accused Kawan of leaking sensitive information and leaking the results of private meetings of the Supreme Council of State to foreign missions, according to the statement.
The Internal Security Service concluded its statement by emphasizing that it will continue to perform its national duties with all determination, without paying attention to those who “have been proven to actively pursue foreign policies aimed at fragmenting the Libyan people and tampering with and depleting their wealth.”
In early August, the Democratic Party said that its Vice President for International Relations, Nizar Kawan, was subjected to an assassination attempt in Tripoli after leaving a session of the State Council, adding that protection personnel were able to control one of the “aggressors’” cars.
