A first real support for Bernard Cazeneuve? The Radical Left Party (PRG) will join the movement created by the former Socialist Prime Minister a fortnight ago. Announcement made by the president of the PRG Guillaume Lacroix, re-elected for three years during a congress in Haute-Garonne.

The regional councilor of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes made the choice for his party not to join the left alliance Nupes concluded between LFI, the PS, the PCF and EELV in the last legislative elections. Defending a line of independence, Guillaume Lacroix intends to contribute to rebuilding “a left of government”, and had in this context invited Bernard Cazeneuve to his congress.

“We must transform the test”

“Yes, we need to aggregate and come together. Our independence is not our isolation, ”launched the president of the PRG. The PRG, which has 3,500 activists, “will enter into an agreement in its entirety with you”, announced Guillaume Lacroix, who was already the first signatory of the “manifesto”, the first rallying initiative launched by Bernard Cazeneuve last September.

He also invited Carole Delga, the socialist president of the Occitanie region, also hostile to Nupes and present at the PRG congress, to join La Convention. “We have to transform the test, we can’t stop there,” again launched Sylvia Pinel’s successor, acknowledging that “the task is immense, I don’t know how far it will take us. But by walking together, holding hands, we will always go further.

Bernard Cazeneuve announced this week the name of his movement: “The Convention”, launched to bring together the left Anti-NUPES. This movement already has nearly 4,000 signatories.
