Kottayam/ Alappuzha: A holiday has been declared for educational institutions in three districts tomorrow in view of the continued heavy rains in the state. A holiday has been declared tomorrow in Kottayam, Alappuzha and Idukki districts. District Collectors informed that all educational posts including professional colleges and Anganwadis will be closed. The Collector informed that there will be no change in pre-scheduled examinations and interviews in Idukki.

All educational institutions including professional colleges in Pathanamthitta Tiruvalla taluk and educational institutions running relief camps in other taluks of the district will be a holiday tomorrow. However, there will be no change in the University Examinations as scheduled earlier. The Controller of Examinations has announced that all examinations scheduled for tomorrow at Mahatma Gandhi University have been rescheduled. The new date will be announced later.

Power generation will be adjusted without raising the water level to maximum storage capacity in Idukki. Red alert continues in six dams Ponmudi, Kallarkutty, Tannayar, Lower Periyar, Moozhiyar, Kundala and red alert. Mangalam and Meenkara dams are on orange alert. The water level in Gayatri, Neyyar, Manimala and Karamana rivers has exceeded the danger level. The water level in Pampa, Achankovil, Thodupuzha and Meenachil rivers is also rising.
