The Observatory of the Ministry of the Environment predicts that rains will continue in El Salvador this Saturday, mainly in the afternoon and evening.

The rains will be influenced by the Intertropical Convergence Zone located on the Central American coasts, which remains in the region due to these two high pressure systems, one located in the southern Gulf of Mexico and the other south of the coasts of Mexico.

The rainfall will occur over the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador (AMSS), the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range and also over the Tecapa – Chinameca mountain range (San Miguel, Usulután), according to MARN meteorologist Jonathan Hernández.

“The combination of these systems maintains the convergence zone at this point and during the afternoon it will be bringing humidity to the Salvadoran territory. There is also a high pressure system in the Caribbean,” said the meteorologist.

The environmental institution also explained that these rains could move to the north of the country during the afternoon and night, in addition, there will be slightly to partly cloudy skies. For the following week, an increase in precipitation is expected, according to meteorologist Jonathan Hernández.
