The Rajapaksas have looted 70 percent of people’s savings Harsha

by time news

There is no mistake in the fact that the Rajapaksas have looted 70 percent of the country’s savings. Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the Rajapaksas have annihilated the country.

Harsha de Silva, a member of United People’s Shakti, told the House that the economic policy of President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is a prisoner of Podujana Peramuna, will be like laying a quill in a crow’s nest.

Birdu mentioned the above on the first day of the debate on the Interim Budget which was held in the Parliament on Tuesday.

He further stated,

Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has mentioned that Bangladesh will never fail like Sri Lanka. It is being discussed at the international level. Bangladesh, which was in the background economically than Sri Lanka, has now developed to the extent of lending to Sri Lanka.

Not only Bangladesh, but many countries in the region are progressing ahead of us. Following the garment industry in 1995, Sri Lanka and Vietnam exported three and a half billion worth of goods per year.

In 2021, Sri Lanka will export twelve and a half billion dollars while Vietnam has exported three hundred and fifty billion dollars worth of goods.

The leaders of this country have changed their countries to suit the world. Tax fences have been erected across the country, false promises have been made to the people.

People are facing an unsustainable situation. Food inflation has risen to 80 percent in the last month due to government benchmarking. The price of a pan can reach 300 rupees. It is not wrong to mention that the Rajapaksas have looted 70 percent of the savings of the people of the country. That is true.

The country is near death. It was in an intolerable situation that the people of the country started protesting and boycotted the Rajapaksas from politics. Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was locked up in a hotel abroad.

The people of the country fearlessly point out that Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and the Rajapaksas have annihilated the country.

The Rajapakses’ party has made Ranil Wickremesinghe the president of the United National Party and distorted the Lok Sabha. The Interim Budget presented by President Ranil Wickremesinghe is just a document.

Only an amendment to the Appropriation Bill presented by former Finance Minister Bashil Rajapaksa has been tabled.

There is no need to explain this much. The current interim budget is based on our 10-point policy plan for economic recovery.

The president has been presenting the economic policy plan according to the world trend for a long time, but the Rajapaksas are not giving space to implement it. This kind of behavior has been seen in the government of good governance and its continuation is still being seen.

Violent attacks are being carried out on protestors. Anti-Terrorism Act is being misused. Geneva should be held accountable for the current anti-democratic activities in the country.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe does not have a Lok Sabha. The Rajapaksas will never allow President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is a prisoner of Podujana Peramuna, to implement his economic policy.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s economic policy is like laying a quill in a crow’s nest. We are in dire straits.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe does not have the resources to solve the economic crisis. He said that we will provide cooperation for economic recovery through the Parliament.
