But Sajan Surya responded that he was the person who changed the name decades before the new trend of celebrities to avoid the caste tails along with the name.
Not everyone who knows him knows the name Sajan S Nair. My official name in office is Sajan S Nair. Sajan Surya also stated that no one calls that name for the last twenty years. The name was changed when he entered the theater scene. When I mentioned the name of the actor who was playing a role in the country at that time, I felt that saying Sajan S Nair was not comfortable. Parameswaran Kuriyathi, the director and guru of drama, was the inspiration. The actor added that he changed the name.
But Sajan Surya clarified that the reason for changing the name is not dissatisfaction with the Nair community. He named Sajan Surya by adding his mother Surya Kala’s Surya to his name Sajan. The actor also stated that this is how the name was changed 25 years ago.
