However, Marteen Paes has not been able to play in the match. This was revealed by Exco PSSI member Arya Sinulingga.

Arya confirmed that PSSI could not register Maarten Paes’ name for the match against Saudi Arabia.

This is because the registration process has been closed since August 5.

“There is an AFC regulation that says we have to register players to participate. match first (against Saudi Arabia) on August 5,” said Arya via the channel Youtube his personal.

On the other hand, Maarten Paes was only allowed to defend the Indonesian National Team on August 18 even though he has been an Indonesian citizen since April 2024.

This is the result of PSSI’s struggle at the Court of Arbitration for Sport or CAS with a hearing held on August 15.
