JAKARTA – Dimas Drajad reveals the factors that support better productivity when playing for Indonesian National team than at the club. He admitted that his injury was the main cause of difficulty scoring goals with Persikabo 1973.
Dimas Drajad became a hero when the Indonesian National Team destroyed Brunei Darussalam with a score of 6-0 in the first leg of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian zone at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta on Thursday (13/10/2023) evening WIB. The 26 year old striker managed to score a hat trick or three goals in one match.
Even though he showed his sharpness with the Indonesian National Team, Dimas Drajad’s performance in League 1 2023/2024 was not satisfactory. Of his nine appearances with Persikabo 1973, he has not scored a goal, although he has recorded two assists.
After the match, Dimas Drajad revealed that the injury he had experienced made it difficult for him to score goals in Liga 1 2023/2024 until week 15. However, he feels that during his two matches with the Indonesian National Team, his condition has improved and this has helped him to score goals.
“I had a hamstring injury and some knee problems. Maybe that’s why I haven’t scored a goal, and maybe that’s why I feel more comfortable in the last two matches,” said Dimas Drajad to the media crew. SINDOnews at SUGBK, Thursday (12/10/2023).
The 178 cm striker also hopes to score more goals with the Indonesian national team. Dimas Drajad dedicated the three goals he scored against Brunei Darussalam to his family and the Indonesian people.
“I hope to score more goals here (with the Indonesian National Team). I dedicate this hat trick to my family, my children and the Indonesian people,” he said.
Furthermore, Dimas Drajad stated that he was not too focused on the number of goals he scored against Brunei Darussalam. For him, the most important thing is to be able to carry out Shin Tae-yong’s instructions and perform better in the second leg.
“Thank God, I was able to score a hat trick, but the most important thing for me was to carry out the coach’s instructions and give a better performance in the second leg,” he said.
