The Prime Minister’s Office announced this evening (Friday) that together with the head of the Mossad, Dedi Barnea, an agreement was reached with Qatar on the introduction of medicine to the hostages held by Hamas. In the announcement it was stated that “the medication will be administered in the coming days.”

The International Red Cross is trying to take credit for the move, which takes place after 100 days. “As part of our humanitarian work,” the Red Cross says in response to the question of ‘Davar’, “the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross urged the parties and influential parties to ensure that medicines are delivered to the hostages. The most important thing is that the medicines reach those who need them. We will not be satisfied until we know that the drugs have reached their destination.” At this stage it is not clear the exact practice in which the drugs will reach the abductees, the Red Cross refused to answer our question on the subject.

At the headquarters, the families of the abductees are not impressed by the announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office: “We demand visual proof that the abductees do indeed receive the drugs as a condition for transferring the funds to Gaza. The shocking images of the abductees in captivity require increasing pressure on the countries involved in the negotiations to lead to an immediate release, and not stop at the transfer of drugs.”
