Hospitals and clinics are starting to see a little more clearly about their future resources. The next Social Security budget must pave the way for a reform of their financing method which would provide greater support for establishments dealing with emergencies and operating intensive care units.
This project was announced by Emmanuel Macron at the beginning of the year. Dating back to 2004, the method of remunerating hospitals based on their actual activity for medicine, surgery and obstetrics “takes poor account of unscheduled care, it takes poor account of the most complex activities”, declared the Head of State, citing as an example the pediatric services overwhelmed last winter by bronchiolitis.
