The reformist dynamic under the impetus of HM the King strengthens Morocco’s position on the world stage (Rama Yade)

Washington – The dynamic of reforms that Morocco has engaged in since the accession of HM King Mohammed VI to the Throne strengthens the position of the Kingdom on the African scale and on the global chessboard, affirmed the Africa director of the prestigious American think tank Atlantic Council, Rama Yade.

“It is more than a double decade of reforms that have consolidated Morocco’s place on the map, not only of Africa, but of the rest of the world,” Ms. Yade told MAP, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the enthronement of HM the King, noting that the evolution recorded by the Kingdom since the accession of the Sovereign to the Throne is “remarkable in several ways.”

The former French Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Human Rights cited, in this regard, sustained economic growth, notable developments in terms of the business climate and infrastructure, as well as strong growth in investments in Africa.

“Morocco has made undeniable economic and social progress,” said Ms. Yade, who sees this as the culmination of three essential elements: integration into globalization, a reform strategy and a proactive industrial strategy.

Ms. Yade also highlighted the virtuous dynamic of reform initiated by HM King Mohammed VI in the field of human rights, recalling the election “brilliantly won” by the Kingdom to the Presidency of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

“This is a recognition of the enlightened and humanist vision” of His Majesty the King, she said.
