The refreshed Ryzen processors are officially launched – all the details inside • HWzone

by time news

Last week We reported the expected refresh For the Ryzen 5000 and Ryzen 4000 processor series, and here they are already, ready to inspire some more interest and competition in the market

AMD is now launching a series of new processors for its current Ryzen series, consisting of more affordable and flashy mid-range models, and the icing on the cake: the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor, as of this writing, according to AMD – the fastest gaming processor on the market right now, since It is designed to close gaps with Intel’s Alder Lake series in general, and the Core i9 12900K processor in particular.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D – A little taste of what’s going to come

This 8-core processor is the small taste we get from AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, which it is expected to use in the next series of processors (Zen 4). Using the above technology it carries 96MB of third-level cache memory, along with a working frequency of 3.4GHz to 4.5GHz.

The new technology embedded in this processor gives it about a 15% to 20% improvement in gaming performance compared to the current generation, especially compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X (although the latter contains larger working frequencies and turbo frequencies than the new 5800X3D). Therefore, it can be understood that the cache memory plays a particularly central role here.

The new processor is expected to be available for purchase starting April 20, 2022 at a suggested retail price of $ 449 (NIS 1,469 with immediate conversion). Also, unlike its predecessor it does not come with a heat sink – a not so painful fact, since buyers of this processor use their own advanced cooling solutions, usually.

AMD In front of a series Alder Lake Of Intel – the rest of the new processors

Here they are here as well, AMD’s “refresh” processors for the current Ryzen series – six in number. Their presence also comes as a direct response to some processors from Intel’s Alder Lake series that have so far bitten off a bit (and sometimes more) in the existing series. AMD also shows less power consumption in these processors, only about 65 watts compared to the current ones.

We will present them again now and start with the 5700X, an 8-core processor with a base frequency of 3.4GHz to a boost frequency of 4.6GHz which is expected to present a more powerful alternative to the 5800X, for a recommended price of $ 299. Next to it stands the 5600 processor, a 2-core chopper version that ran at base frequencies up to a boost of 3.5GHz and 4.4GHz respectively. This processor is priced at $ 199. This list is closed by the 5500 processor, a 6-core processor that is from the version of the 5700G only without a graphics core, and it runs at speeds of 3.6GHz to 4.2GHz along with a cache of 16 megabytes, for $ 159.

As we reported, a third of the processors tagged as Ryzen 4000 are also included in the list, as they are based on the Zen 2 cores (which are used in the Ryzen 3000 series). The first are the 4600G and 4500. The first is another processor with a built-in 6-core graphics processor priced at $ 154, while the second is a processor with identical data (6 cores as well), without a graphics core costing $ 129. AMD also included a special budget processor, the 4100. A processor with a price tag of only $ 99 that carries with it only 4 cores.

These processors will be available for purchase starting April 4, 2022.

Ryzen for everyone – back support for older motherboards

Finally, AMD has announced that it is finally bringing support for these processors (and all the rest of the current ones) to older motherboards that use X370, B350 and A320 chipsets. This backward compatibility will start to be available in the form of BIOS updates starting in May 2022.
