The release of electric cars in Russia will outstrip the pace of installation of fast charging stations

The production of electric vehicles in Russia in 2023 will grow more than 2 times faster than the government planned, and the installation of fast charging stations, on the contrary, will lag behind these plans. This follows from the data provided by officials at the strategic session on electric transport held by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov on February 8, 2023.

In 2022, 439 fast electric charging stations (FES) were installed in Russia, Belousov noted, whose words are quoted in the release of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The power of such a station is 150 kW, which allows you to charge an average electric car by 80% in about half an hour. The power of slow EZS is 44 kW, the charging time of an electric car up to 40% is at least 2 hours. In 2023, according to Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin (he is also quoted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade), 872 fast EZS should be put into operation in 39 regions.
