«The figures of Russian generals killed in the Ukraine war are even higher than those of other armed conflicts of the past such as the Vietnam War or the Arab-Israeli wars. It is eye-catching. In World War II, the Soviet Army lost generals at the same rate as now, but the average number of Russian high-ranking officers killed today is out of the average,” Javier Jordán, professor of Political Science at the University of Granada and specialist in Strategic and Military Studies.
The first to be eliminated was Magomed Tushayev, an important Chechen general who had led the repression of the LGTBI community in his country in recent years, committing all kinds of kidnappings, torture and murders.
He was also responsible for one of the main elite units that Russian President Vladimir Putin launched against kyiv to conquer it as soon as possible, but he was killed just two days after the start of the invasion of Ukraine.
How was Ukraine able to eliminate such an important general in such a short time? To the surprise of leading military analysts, he was not alone. In the following two months, 11 more fell.
