It would have taken time. But the result is there. This Monday, April 17, travelers transiting through the heart of Paris will be able to discover the completely renovated Saint-Michel – Notre-Dame RER C station. It had been closed and not served since August 20, 2022. For eight long months, the approximately 540,000 daily users of the RER C had to walk about 1.6 km more to reach the two closest stops (Musée-d’Orsay west side, Paris-Austerlitz east side). The walk is over! Saint-Michel is finally reopening its doors, four months behind schedule. However, the finishing touches will continue until this summer, with the commissioning of the two escalators and the elevator.
