The resort season in the Russian-occupied Crimea has been disrupted once again. Now even the most convinced “z-patriots” refuse to go to the peninsula. Almost daily explosions, fires and arrivals have provoked a mass cancellation of tours for illegal vacations at the peninsula’s resorts. And after the Ukrainian military openly declared that they consider the ports and the Crimean Bridge to be military facilities, the demand for vacations in Crimea has probably fallen to a record low.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Almost 80% of Russians have cancelled tours to occupied Sevastopol scheduled for June 2024. It is known that the overall Crimean rate of cancellation of already booked tours last month was more than a third.
“First of all, the Russians who have changed their minds about basking on the captured Crimean coasts are worried about the difficult security situation caused by the occupation. In particular, the mass refusal of Russians to vacation in Crimea was influenced by the unreliable and deadly dangerous operation of the invaders’ air defense system,” the Ukrainian intelligence service notes.
Another risk factor, the intelligence agency said, is the vulnerable illegal Kerch Bridge, which remains a major artery for so-called tourism from Russia and is used for military logistics.
It should be noted that earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov, noted the need to continue pressure on Russia, in particular in Crimea – to attack from the air, use sea attack drones and conduct covert special operations. As the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explained, one of the priorities of the relevant missions is the destruction of the logistics of the Russian occupation army on the temporarily occupied peninsula.
