At the age of 70, one of the best and respected Vidin basketball coaches, Kircho Tsvetkov, died, the “Vidabasket” Basketball Club announced on their Facebook page. He was born in 1954 in the village of Gara Oreshets, Dimovo municipality. He was a competitor of “Khimik” (Vidin) in the then elite Bulgarian basketball division, with a rich coaching career of sports clubs in Vidin and the country.

Until recently, the basketball specialist worked with teenagers in the “Festivalna” hall with new plans for the children’s development. He was also planning a sports camp at the end of the summer.

Apart from Vidin, he played in different periods for “Slavia”, “Pirin” (Blagoevgrad) and “Akademik” (Plovdiv). After the end of his racing career, he devoted himself to coaching. He worked the most in his hometown, creating many talents for Bulgarian basketball, as well as for “Septemvri” (Sofia).

The worship will be on August 8 at 10:00 in the ritual hall of the Old Cemetery, and the burial will take place at the new cemetery park in Vidin, the club reports.

Condolences to his family and loved ones!” the club wrote.
