“For our movement, La France insoumise, 2022 has truly been an incredible year. » A video in the form of a report was shared on Monday, December 26, on the Telegram loop of parliamentarians by the deputy for Paris close to Jean-Luc Mélenchon Sophia Chikirou. With a lot of posters bearing the image of the leader of La France insoumise (LFI), the video praises above all the virtues of the movement – in the clip, no trace of Alexis Corbière, Raquel Garrido, Clémentine Autain, nor of the others historical missing from the new direction of the movement.
An attempt to forget the setbacks of previous weeks? Especially those of the morning itself? In the columns of MondeMonday, more than a thousand LFI and Nupes activists signed a platform denouncing the decision of the movement to exclude only temporarily from the parliamentary group the deputy of the North Adrien Quatennens, convicted of “domestic violence” on his wife. “We, members of La France insoumise and Nupes, ask [son] exclusion », claim these activists. They deplore in particular a measure taken “without transparency or democratic consultation”, seen as a ” treason “ of the Nupes program: “feminism and the fight against sexist and sexual violence against women”.
This time, disagreements are put on paper and forced to be dealt with publicly – a rarity in a movement that favors closed doors. Because since the Quatennens affair, something has changed. The first speeches on BFM-TV and in The voice of the North of the former lieutenant mélenchoniste offended more than one militant, especially among young “rebellious”. Thursday, December 22, about twenty LFI action groups from all over France declared themselves ” striking “ to demand the resignation of the deputy from the North. Gabin Plantet, an activist in Poitiers, where the strike began, continues today: “We said to ourselves that we were no longer going to campaign for a party which had in its ranks a man who had slapped his wife”, asserts the 18-year-old history student. And to add: “To protect a movement and its ideas, you have to know how to separate yourself from the people who taint them. »

Aurélien Le Coq, co-host of the Young Insoumis, observes a “lack of homogeneity among young people” on the issue and seeks to reconnect them with the executives. “We are trying to make sure that it goes as well as possible: we are going to organize exchanges between the parliamentary group and the young people at the start of the school year. » With the hope that the meetings will be more fruitful than the last ones. According to several militant sources, a first press release was read to the deputy of Bouches-du-Rhône Manuel Bompard, during a seminar of the organizers of action groups, before the conviction of Adrien Quatennens, evoking the disagreements around of a potential reinstatement of the deputy from the North. The coordinator of La France insoumise had avoided the debate: the question was not on the agenda.
