The Chairman of the Majilis got acquainted with the work of the new dispatch and analytical center at JSC Qarmet. The center was presented by the founder Andrey Lavrentyev and the CEO Vadim Basin. The new facility is responsible for the simultaneous control of the industrial safety situation at all coal mining enterprises; specialists monitor the state of the mines in real time around the clock.
“A major event not only for Karaganda, but for the entire country was the return of Qarmet to the ownership of a Kazakh company. This was a strong-willed political decision by the President. The key conditions are the obligations of the new investor to carry out a comprehensive modernization of production. Within 5 years, the plant must regain its status as a leader in metallurgy. At the same time, labor safety and industrial safety must be strengthened. The most important thing is to preserve the lives and health of our workers. Accidents and accidents must be excluded,” said Erlan Koshanov.
The Chairman of Amanat also discussed with trade union members the existing issues on improving social support for workers and miners from the state. Thus, through the joint efforts of members of Parliament, Amanat and the government, the Institute of Occupational Diseases was restored, new laws were adopted that provide full insurance payments to workers in case of accidents, and also expand the powers of labor inspectors.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the work of the new law, which provides the opportunity to receive a special social payment from the age of 55 for workers in hazardous industries.
Chairman of the coal miners’ union “Korgau” Yevgeny Buslaev noted that more than 800 Qarmet workers have already taken advantage of the new opportunity. In total, more than 8 thousand people across the country receive payments. He especially emphasized that this law is a specific indicator of the state’s concern for the working man, and thanked the President and the Amanat party for its prompt adoption.
The Speaker of the House also visited the villages of Sadovoe and Chkalovo in the Bukhar-Zhyrau district, where he got acquainted with the work to restore the protective embankments after the floods and the dam. Back in 2017, rock dams were built around these villages, which allowed these settlements to be protected from floods this year.
However, if the problem with large water is solved, local residents have nowhere to graze their cattle. The Chairman of Amanat spoke about the work of the party commission “Zher amanaty”, thanks to which more than 10.8 million hectares of illegally acquired pastures have been returned to the state in two years. To help private farms, the law “On pastures” was adopted on the instructions of the Head of State.
Later in Karaganda, Erlan Koshanov visited the Center for State and Service Services, where the country’s first women’s police station opened in October last year, functionally becoming a Unified Family Assistance Center. Victims of domestic violence can receive comprehensive assistance here. The Chairman of the Majilis positively assessed the experience of the Karaganda region and proposed considering the introduction of this practice in other regions of the country.
The Speaker of the Majilis also got acquainted with the work on modernization of the heat supply networks of Karaganda. The new highway will solve the acute problem of shortage of heat capacity, and also relieve the existing networks of the city. The project will be fully implemented in the fall of this year.
