Virudhunagar: A viral video of the revenue minister assaulting a woman who had come to file a petition near Virudhunagar sparked a stir.

A program of free goats distribution to the beneficiaries was held last Saturday at Balavanath in Virudhunagar district. Revenue Minister Sathur Ramachandran attended and provided welfare assistance to the beneficiaries.

At that time, Kalavati (55) from Palawanath submitted a petition to the Minister for old age allowance for her mother Sakuntala (77).

At that time, the minister was talking to District Collector Meghnath Reddy who was standing nearby. The minister who took the petition from Kalavati who interrupted, patted him on the head and said to wait a little.
But a video went viral on social media where the revenue minister assaulted the woman who came to file the petition.

In this case, Kalavathi gave an interview at the Revenue Minister’s house in Virudhunagar this morning. At that time, Revenue Minister Sathur Ramachandran said that he is used to them like a member of his family and has been watching their good and bad for the past 30 years.

I applied for my mother’s old age allowance. Then the minister who received the petition patted me on the head like always and said that I will definitely do it and who else will do it if not me. A video of the minister hitting me on the head with a blanket went viral. But that is not what actually happened. “The minister did not hit me,” he said.

It is also noteworthy that the order to provide old age allowance to Kalavati’s mother Sakuntala was given yesterday (July 13).
