At the demonstration by Palestinians residents of Nabi Samuel that was held yesterday (Friday) against the decision to close the village gates from the north, near the tomb of the prophet Samuel, a group of about ten Jews came to the demonstration and provoked the demonstrators. A confrontation developed between the demonstrators and the group when the demonstrators attacked one of them in the presence of the security forces. The soldiers of the Border Guard who were operating on the spot, worked to repel the rioters and stop the violence and the disturbance of order on the spot. Following the incident, the police opened an investigation and subsequently, last night, the Jerusalem district police officers arrested a resident of the area in his 40s, who, according to suspicion, was actively involved in the incident of violence and assault on the spot. The arrested suspect was taken to the police station for questioning. During Shabbat, four more were arrested. It should be noted that no one from the group of Jews who came to provoke the protesters was arrested.
