German Health Minister Jens Spahn has warned that the risk is high if the public does not get the COVID-19 vaccine.

He expressed concern that in a few more months people in Germany would either be vaccinated, become infected or die.

He urged citizens to hurry up and get vaccinated.

The epidemic is currently intensifying in Germany.

The crisis has escalated as the number of patients in hospitals has even begun to rise.

So far only 68 percent of Germans have been fully vaccinated.

Today, 30,643 new cases have been identified in the country.

More than 5.3 million people are infected in Germany. More than 100,000 people died of the disease.
