On February 11, the men’s curling team of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) won an early victory over athletes from Denmark in the preliminary round match with a score of 10:2. This is reported by the site “Sport-Express”.

The fifth end turned out to be decisive in the match, which the Russians won with a score of 6:0. The Danes stopped fighting during the seventh end.

Sergey Glukhov, Dmitry Mironov, Anton Kalalb, Evgeny Klimov and Daniil Goryachev are part of the Russian team at the Games.

In previous round-robin matches of the Olympiad, the ROC team lost to the USA (5:6), beat China (7:4) and lost to Switzerland (3:6). At the group stage, 10 teams compete, the best four teams will advance to the semi-finals of the Olympic tournament. The Russians will play the next match on February 13 against the Italians.

Earlier that day, Russian hockey players secured first place in the group and reached the quarterfinals of the Games following the match between the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

The 2022 Olympics are being held from February 4 to 20 in three clusters at once: in Beijing (hockey, figure skating, speed skating, curling), Zhangjiakou (biathlon, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski jumping) and Yanqing (alpine skiing, bobsleigh, skeleton and luge).
