The exhibition “The Rocks of the UNESCO World Geopark Vikos-Aoos under the Microscope: Aspects of their inner world” is presented by the World Geopark Vikos-Aoos and the Ioannou Saralis Foundation until August 31 at the headquarters of the Saralis Foundation in Aristi, Zagori.
The exhibition was launched in the context of the re-evaluation of the Geopark by UNESCO, with the committee visiting Aristi and the building of the Saralis Foundation, where it discussed with representatives of the settlement’s cultural institutions.
It is a pioneering photographic exhibition, which highlights the heritage of the Vikos-Aoos Global Geopark through different scales. Unique photographs are presented, depicting the rocks of the Geopark through the microscope combined with images of enchanting landscapes of the area. Samples of the different rocks are available for visitors to touch and feel the texture of the area’s geological heritage.
The exhibition operates thanks to the voluntary offer and is open from Monday to Friday 10 am to 2 pm and 5 to 7.30 pm. On Saturday, August 3, there will be two organized tours (18:30 and 19:30 respectively). Admission is free.
