The Rolling Stones release new album ‘Hackney Diamonds’

Time.news – New single for i Rolling Stones celebrating the release of their long-awaited new album Hackney diamonds“, the band’s first album of unreleased songs in eighteen years. After the first two extracts from the album, “Angry” and “Sweet Sounds Of Heaven”, the new single “Mess it up” is now available for programming.

With the music of DJ Questlove, the celebration of the new album soon became a rock show at the Racke NYC club in New York when Mick Jagger, Keith Richards e Ronnie Wood took the stage to perform seven songs, including tracks from the album and iconic hits: “Shattered,” “Angry,” “Whole Wide World,” “Tumbling Dice” “Bite My Head Off” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and the new single “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” which saw Lady Gaga join the band on stage in the packed club.

Among the guests present Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah, Daniel Craig, Mary Kate Olsen, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, Chris Rock, Taylor Hill, Rachel Weisz, Christie Brinkley, Ed Burns, Keegan-Michael Key, Minka Kelly, Christy Turlington, Andrew Watt and many others. To celebrate the release of the new album, Capitol Records Italy/Universal Music Italia and Feltrinelli Librerie have opened a pop up store until October 26th inside the Feltrinelli store in Corso Buenos Aires in Milan dedicated to Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, where fans will be able to find, in addition to the physical editions of the album already available in Italy, a unique version exclusively for this occasion and for this store: a completely red limited edition vinyl.

But that’s not all, as far as Merchandising is concerned, a t-shirt designed and personalized exclusively for the Italian public will be available at the bookshop, also in a limited edition. Following the band’s collaboration with Spotify and FC Barcellona (a special vintage shirt from the Blaugrana team customized with the Stones’ iconic language is now available on the Universal Music store.

The 12 track album were recorded in various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Metropolis Studios in London, Sanctuary Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, Electric Lady Studios in New York and Hit Factory/Germano Studios, always in New York.

The late drummer Charlie Watts is featured on two tracks: “Mess It Up” and “Live By The Sword.” “Live By The Sword” also includes the bass of former Stones bassist Bill Wyman, “Sweet Sounds Of Heaven” features the voice of Lady Gaga and the keyboards and piano of Stevie Wonder, “Get Close” and “Live By The Sword” the piano by Elton John “Bite My Head Off” the bass by Paul McCartney.

“Hackney Diamonds” is their first studio album containing new material since “A Bigger Bang” released in 2005. Since then, the Stones have continued to break box-office records with a series of sell-out global tours and have released 2016 Grammy Award-winning album Blue & Lonesome, which featured their brilliant versions of many of the blues songs that helped shape their sound and topped album charts around the world.

Last year they wowed European audiences totaling almost a quarter of a million people during their “Sixty” anniversary tour. The Rolling Stones have sold over 250 million albums worldwide. “Hackney Diamonds” marks the first album by the Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood) produced by producer and musician Andrew Watt.
